London-based Anna Bey has a YouTube channel, and a new video titled “10 Things Elegant People NEVER Do.” If you’re a woman and you want to be elegant, here are the Top 10 ‘Don’ts’ of Being Elegant:


1. Don’t be rude.
2. Don’t touch your empty plate. When you have finished with you meal, don’t push the plate away, and don’t force your way into the kitchen to help.
3. Don’t bring your coat to the table.
4. Don’t leave the table mid-meal. If you need to use the restroom during the meal, hold it until the end — including dessert. If you absolutely have to, elegant people don’t announce where they’re going when they leave the table — they simple say, “Excuse me.”
5. Don’t speak loudly in public places.
6. Don’t gawk at others.
7. Don’t chew gum in public.
8. Don’t get too comfortable. Resist the urge to put your feet up. People should never see the soles of your shoes while sitting down.
9. Don’t make excuses. Respond to an invitation in a timely manner. If you can’t go, just say no. There is no need for a lengthy explanation.
10. Don’t carry a large purse.
