Another 43-hundred people are safe from the war in Ukraine. They escaped yesterday, adding to the more than four-and-a-half-million who’ve fled in the past seven weeks. About half are children. The U.N. says nearly two-thirds of all kids in the country have been forced from their homes.

The March inflation rate comes out today and experts see prices going through the roof.  Analysts are forecasting inflation rising eight-point-three percent over the past 12 months.  That’s on top of February’s seven-point-nine percent rise, the highest in 40 years. 

One of the nation’s biggest cities is bringing back its mask mandate.  Philadelphia is dealing with a rise in COVID cases, enough to start masks again on Monday.  Businesses that require proof of vaccination will be exempt.  Health officials hope this will get the state ahead of any wave.

International trade is at a standstill at a busy Texas border crossing.  Truck drivers in Mexico are blocking traffic in and out of the state in protest over vehicle inspections ordered by the governor.  The delay could impact produce supplied to grocery stores and restaurants.

Twitter employees are heading back to work today after a scheduled day off for rest.  Their question and answer session with Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk won’t be happening this week.  He decided not to join the company’s board after becoming largest single shareholder.

People in Arkansas are preparing to take cover again today.  The threat of more tornadoes continues as another storm rolls through.  Several twisters touched down last night leaving a trail of damage.  At least one college has already canceled classes due to flooding on campus.
