The Pentagon says Ukraine can absolutely win the war against Russia. Troops never took control of the capital before they left and have only overrun a few areas. They also didn’t topple the government. Officials say that shows Ukrainians are denying Russia of its goals.

President Biden is one step closer to sending more military equipment to Ukraine even faster.  The Senate passed legislation last night to revive a program last used in Word War Two.  If it passes the House, the U.S. could bypass hurdles and quickly resupply the country.

President Biden’s first pick to the Supreme Court is just hours from making history.  The Senate is expected to confirm Ketanji Brown Jackson as the first Black woman on the bench.  That means four of the nine justices would be women for the first time ever.

Six states are calling on the NFL to end what’s described as a “pervasive culture of sexism.”  Attorneys general sent a letter to the commissioner.  They want him to quickly respond to allegations of discrimination against women who work for the league.

This is day four of verdict watch in the kidnapping plot trial of Michigan’s governor.  Jurors will continue deliberating the fate of four men, who all face possible life in prison if convicted.  Prosecutors say the men planned to take Gretchen Whitmer from her home in 2020.

A rapper is set to be sentenced next month for killing a homeless man.  A New York jury found Kidd Creole guilty yesterday of stabbing the victim five years ago.  Prosecutors argued it was self defense.  The defense said he thought the man was hitting on him.

Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolf and several Centre County elected officials gathered Wednesday in State College to call on the General Assembly to spend the state’s uncommitted.

The Penn State baseball team put on an offensive display to complete a 7-6 comeback win over Bucknell on Wednesday night at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park. 

The Nittany Lions (5-5, 0-2 B1G) face their fifth ranked opponent of the season in No. 9 UMD (10-1, 2-0 B1G). First draw is slated for 6:30 p.m., and the contest will be broadcast live on the Big Ten Network.

The Pirates open their season this afternoon in St Louis. First pitch, 4:15. The Phillies home opener is tomorrow afternoon against Oakland. First pitch, 3:05.
