Ukraine is entering a new round of peace talks with Russia this week, and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky says he will accept a neutral, non-nuclear status for his country in order to reach an agreement. However, he said any decision would be put to a vote among the Ukrainian people, and the country’s sovereignty is not in question. 


Senator Cory Booker says Supreme Court nominee Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson is “more than qualified” for the position. Appearing on NBC’s Meet the Press, the New Jersey Democrat described last week’s Senate hearings as “outrageous” and “sad.”  The Senate Judiciary Committee is set to vote on Judge Jackson’s nomination April 4th.

The FBI says three teens planned “mass murders” at mosques and synagogues in Chicago during Spring Break.  Court documents unsealed late last week show an 18-year-old from Maine and two unidentified juveniles from Chicago and Kentucky allegedly planned to kill all the adults in a Shiite mosque in the name of the Islamic State.  The documents say if the teens escaped the mosque, they planned to go on to another one or a Jewish synagogue. 

Centre County Boy Scout troop builds memorial for two of their own. After the death of two members only a year apart, Boy Scout Troop 32 is building a new health center, with a focus on mental health and well-being, in their honor.

Penn State Lacrosse opened Big Ten men’s lacrosse play with an 18-7 loss to No. 1 Maryland on Sunday night at Panzer Stadium.

The Nittany Lions Fencing team concluded their season with three Penn Staters earning All-American honors at the final day of NCAA championships.

NHL – The Penguins blew out the Red Wings, 11-2 . The Predators defeated the Flyers, 5-4 in Nashville.

NBA – The Suns over the 76ers, 114-104.

The 2022 NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament Final Four is set.  Kansas, Villanova, Duke and North Carolina will compete in New Orleans for college basketball’s biggest prize. The winner of each game will square off on Monday, April 4th for the national title.
