There’s no escaping the pain at the pump. Drivers are waking up to the highest gas prices ever, breaking a record set in 2008. Triple-A puts today’s new nationwide average at four-dollars and 17-cents. That’s up ten-cents just from yesterday and 55-cents since last week. Gas stations in Los Angeles are selling gas for $6.99 per gallon. Mid-grade gasoline is selling for $7.19 a gallon.

A Georgia man is headed to prison for using COVID relief funds on a Pokemon card.  Investigators say he faked information to obtain 85-thousand-dollars that was intended to benefit small businesses.  He then used most of it to buy a single collector’s Pokemon card.

People in the U.S. can now order 4 more free Covid tests online:  The program, run in partnership with the U.S. Postal Service, began during the omicron surge in December. As with the last round of test shipments, entering a U.S. home address at COVIDtests.gov will create a free order for four tests. Households that already received a package of tests from the site are eligible to request a new one.

NFL Star Suspended For Betting On Games: ESPN says the NFL has suspended Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Calvin Ridley for at least a year for betting on NFL games. The NFL investigated and found no evidence that any Falcons players or coaches were aware of Calvin’s betting. Calvin only played in five games last year before stepping away from the team to work on his mental health. Calvin posted; ”I bet 1500 total I don’t have a gambling problem.  I know I was wrong but I’m getting 1 year lol. Just gone be more healthy when I come back.” Calvin will lose over $11 million dollars in salary.
