Video Game Addiction Now An Official Illness

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution says the World Health Organization has announced that they are now going to recognize video game addiction as an official illness.

Someone is addicted to video games if they ‘have a lack of control over the impulse to play video games, a tendency to prioritize it at the expense of other interests or obligations and continued or escalated involvement despite experiencing negative consequences’.

The WHO says three percent of people are addicted to video games.
