Plans for a nationwide protest over COVID mandates appear to be gaining steam. Messages on social media are calling for a convoy of truckers to start in California and end in D.C. It would be similar to the protest happening in Canada, forcing the capital to declare an emergency.

It could take several weeks to pick a jury in the botched Kentucky raid that killed Breonna Taylor.  The process picked back up yesterday after a delay and will continue today.  Former Louisville officer Brett Hankinson is on trial for endangering neighbors when he fired ten times.

Dozens of SpaceX Starlink satellites are crashing and burning.  They were part of a batch of 49 sent into orbit last week from Florida.  After launch, a geomagnetic storm hit the Earth’s atmosphere and the satellites never recovered from their safe mode.

Starbucks is accused of trying to stop efforts to unionize in Tennessee by firing seven workers.  But the coffee giant says that wasn’t the reason.  It claims the employees were let go for safety and security violations.  The group says that only came out when they tried to organize.

Team USA is celebrating its first gold medal of the Winter Olympics.  Snowboarder Lindsey Jacobellis captured the win today with a huge smile in the snowboard final.  She also makes history as the oldest American woman to win a gold in any sport at the Winter Games.

The Penn State men’s basketball found itself in another tight defensive battle, but fell just short to the visiting Michigan Wolverines, 58-57, Tuesday evening at the Bryce Jordan Center.

The Penn State women’s hockey team enjoyed a five-goal outburst in a 5-0 nonconference victory over Cornell.

NBA – The 76ers lost to Phoenix, 114-109.

NHL – The Penguins defeated the Bruins, 4-2. Sidney Crosby scored his 499th career goal.
