Centre County is under a winter weather advisory till 10 a.m. Friday, and the wintry mix of precipitation is causing closings and cancelations. Rain is expected to change over to freezing rain and sleet on Thursday night, with a mix of snow, sleet and freezing rain beginning early on Friday morning, according to the the National Weather Service. NWS forecasts snow and sleet accumulations of up to an inch and ice accumulations of a tenth to a quarter of an inch. AccuWeather predicts 1 to 3 inches of snow and sleet with a quarter inch to a half inch of ice.

The threat of a possible Russian invasion in Ukraine appears to be taking a new turn.  U.S. officials are accusing Russia of planning a fake attack from Ukraine to justify invading the country.  That includes filming a staged explosion, with actors playing dead or mourning. 

A big decision is expected today in the case of a Georgia man killed while jogging.  The father and son convicted of chasing and shooting Ahmaud Arbery may not be on the same page.  One will tell a court today if he’s pleading guilty to a hate crime, the other is headed to trial on Monday.
