About half the nation is bracing for another dangerous storm today. At least 90-million people are in the path of heavy snow, ice, and bitter cold. The winter weather will start in Colorado and New Mexico and stretch to Kansas, Oklahoma, Missouri, Illinois, Indiana and Michigan.

The next step in getting more children protected from coronavirus could happen today.  Pfizer is expected to ask the FDA to approve just two shots for kids under five, with a decision likely by the end of the month.  The company says it’s researching how well three doses work. 

The secretary of state is set to speak to his Russian counterpart today about tensions over Ukraine.  The two will discuss the buildup of troops at the border and concerns of an invasion.  Russia says it has no plans to attack but wants a promise to keep Ukraine out of NATO.

It’s day three of jury selection in the Kentucky trial of the botched police raid on Breonna Taylor.  The first responder was killed almost two years ago when three former cops busted into her apartment and opened fire.  Only Brett Hankinson was charged with endangering neighbors.

A comic-book shop in Tennessee is responding to some schools in the state banning a graphic novel about the Holocaust.  A school board voted to pull Maus [[ mouse ]] from eighth-grade classes.  The store started a GoFundMe to buy copies of the book for students who want them.

The Penn State men’s basketball team returned home for the first time in 20 days with a flair for the dramatic, winning a wild 90-86 double-overtime thriller over Iowa Monday night at the Bryce Jordan Center.  

NBA – The 76ers hold off the Grizzlies, 122-119.

Football star Tom Brady is still figuring out what his NFL future will be.  He says he’ll decide on retiring “when the time is right,” adding he’s going through the process.  He told a podcast he’s motivated to win and by trying to be the best he can.
