A record number of Americans are quitting their jobs.
The Labor Department says some four-and-a-half million people left their jobs in November which is a new high. According to the Job Openings and Labor Turnover Survey, the accommodation and food services industry led the way with the largest number of quits.
Losses in health care, social assistance, transportation and warehousing round out the top five. Meantime, the number of job openings fell to ten-point-six million in November, down from eleven million in October. That gives workers leverage to call some serious career shots.
