On Wednesday (October 13), William Shatner (better-known as Star Trek’s Captain James T. Kirk) became the oldest person ever to be shot into space.
The 90-year-old actor was joined by three other passengers on Jeff Bezos’ New Shepherd rocket for the short but sweet ride.
“Everybody in the world needs to do this,” Shatner said afterward. “It was unbelievable… to see the blue color (of the sky) whip by you and now you’re staring into blackness…”
Shatner told Bezos, “What you have given me is the most profound experience I can imagine. I hope I never recover from this.”
