USPS Mail Delivery To Get Permanently Slower
(Washington, DC) — Mail delivery is about to get slower and it won’t speed back up. The U.S. Postal Service will begin what it calls “new service standards for First Class Mail and Periodicals,” tomorrow. The slowdown will affect mail traveling long distances, such as between the East and West Coasts. Single-piece first class mail within the same region will still have a delivery time of two days.

(Los Angeles, CA) — Los Angeles now has a museum dedicated to the movie industry. Today’s ribbon cutting ceremony for the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures will make a movie museum in L.A. a reality. The original charter of the 94-year-old Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences called for a museum and the group that presents the Academy Awards finally got it done. The seven-story museum covers 300-thousand square feet.

(Monte Alto, Brazil) — A new dinosaur species has been found in southern Brazil. Paleontologists in Monte Alto say the 16-foot-long predator walked on two legs, had a rigid tail, and lived in the region about 70-million years ago. Scientists were not able to identify some of the fossilized bones found in the remains and are classifying it as a new species.
