(New York, NY) — A new study says the first child tax credit payment brought three-million kids out of poverty. That’s according to Columbia University which looked at the money distributed in July. As a result of the payment, the child poverty rate fell from nearly 16-percent to almost 12-percent. The stimulus bill passed earlier this year increased the child tax credit to up to 36-hundred dollars for every kid depending on their age.

(Belfast, ME) — Locals in Maine are mourning the sudden disappearance of a giant rubber duck that was docked in Belfast Harbor last week. The mysterious 25-foot duck with Joy written on the chest appeared with a letter explaining that her purpose is to remind everyone of their commonalities amid an age of divisiveness in the country.
