The Pittsburgh Steelers have signed free agent pass rusher Melvin Ingram to a one-year deal.
An agreement was reached between the two sides within 24 hours of just meeting to negotiate.
Ingram made three Pro Bowl appearances with his previous team, the Los Angeles Chargers. He reached a career-high with 10.5 sacks in 2017, and 65 combined tackles in 2015.
Pittsburgh is in desperate need of depth at the outside linebacker position, following the departure of starter Bud Dupree this offseason to the Tennessee Titans.
The Steelers are anchored by All-Pro and defensive MVP candidate TJ Watt, but are unsure of how strong their other pass rush options are with Alex Highsmith, Cassius Marsh, and Quincy Roche.
