Valentine’s Day is on the way, so we thought it was a good time to check out this list of Possibly-True Fun “Facts” about chocolate.
- The world’s largest box of chocolates was over 2,000 pounds . . . and it’s all gone except the ones with the fruit in them.
- The chocolate river in the “Willy Wonka” movie smelled awful, because the chubby kid kept peeing in it.
- Jamaica gave the world chocolate milk. Which almost makes up for the fact it also gave the world white people with dreads.
- Dark chocolate contains as much caffeine as a Coke. Although it still wouldn’t have kept you awake through that Super Bowl.
- The smell of chocolate triggers relaxation. And the devouring of it triggers diabetes.
- Chocolate bars are wrapped in tin foil to keep the government from reading its thoughts.
- A 2013 study found the smell of chocolate in a bookstore made customers 22% more likely to buy books. However, a 2020 study found there are no bookstores left.
