New Year’s Resolutions—Why Bother?

Prepare to be shocked! According to research conducted by Strava, a social network for athletes, people don’t stick with their New Year’s resolutions for very long. After analyzing more than 31.5 million online global activities last January, Strava was able to pinpoint the date when most people report failing their resolution: January 12th.

The study, conducted by the University of Scranton, finds that just 8 percent of people achieve their New Year’s goals, while around 80 percent fail, falling into a pit of disappointment and self-loathing.  Remember – nobody likes a quitter, except gyms that charge an annual membership fee.
