Coronavirus Unemployment Survey

A new Washington Post-Ipsos poll reveals that 77% of unemployed workers believe they will get their jobs back after the coronavirus pandemic ends. Other findings:

– economists believe that 42% of coronavirus-related job losses could be permanent

– experts say the longer people are unemployed, the less likely it is that they will be called back

– 25% of unemployed workers say they will be in “real financial trouble” if nothing changes in the next month

– 33 million Americans are currently out of work. It is the biggest unemployment crisis since the Great Depression
