Little-Known Facts about Mr. Peanut

Did the Planters nuts people just kill off Mr. Peanut?  They posted an early Super Bowl ad where he drives off a cliff with Wesley Snipes and comedian Matt Walsh in the car.  They’re all hanging onto a tree branch that can’t hold their weight.  So Mr. Peanut sacrifices himself and lets go.  And a message pops up that says, “Mr. Peanut: 1916 to 2020.”

Yesterday, Planters announced that, “It is with heavy hearts that we confirm that Mr. Peanut has died at 104,” the announcement post reads. “In the ultimate selfless act, he sacrificed himself to save his friends when they needed him most. According to his obituary:


  • Real name: Sean “Nutty” Combs
  • Strangely, suffered from severe peanut allergies
  • Marilyn Monroe once called him her “most skillful” lover
  • Was an excellent source of protein and fiber
  • Successfully sued makers of “Mr. Pecan” for trademark infringement

  • Torrid love affair with Mrs. Butterworth made tabloid headlines in the 1980’s
  • Hated being called a “Legume”
  • Played himself in a deleted scene from Forest Gump
  • Kindergarten classmate of actor Kirk Douglas
