No-Gift Weddings Are A Trend

More and more couples are choosing to have weddings where no gifts are involved. Behind this trend is the fact that more couples are living together before tying the knot, so they already have many of the household items they might’ve otherwise registered for. Also, these newer couples just don’t need the cash. According to the 2018 U.S. Census, the median age of marriage for women (28-years-old) and men (30-years-old) is the highest it’s ever been, meaning people getting married these days are probably a bit more financially stable than they were back in say, 1990, when the median ages to get married were 24 and 26, respectively. But tradition is hard to break, so many no-gift couples suggest that in lieu of presents guests should donate to a specific charity or cause.
