Every year the Penn State Lady Lion Basketball team helps promote breast cancer awareness and empower survivors through their year-round efforts working with the Pink Zone. Majic 93.7’s afternoon host, Jerry Valeri was live at the Bryce Jordan Center to talk with Coaches, player and organizers about the “Play4Kay Game” benefiting Pink Zone, a truly inspiring event which culminates with the year of fundraising. The team swaps their traditional Blue and White uniforms for pink, as they honor those in the fight of their lives against breast cancer. In 2018 the Pink Zone raised $144,000 and $2.1 million since their inception. Monies raised go to six beneficiaries, Mount Nittany Medical Center, Penn State Cancer Institute, Pennsylvania Breast Cancer Coalition, the Kay Yow Cancer Fund, J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital and Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital.
