A recent study has found that leaving kids with their grandparents may not actually be the best thing for them. A French study by the Sorbonne University researched 1,428 children — following their emotional development from birth up to eight-years-old. They found that kids who went to daycare instead of staying with grandparents were less likely to have emotional and behavioral problems and more likely to have better social skills. Previous research by the University of Glasgow in 2017 also indicated that grandparents may not be the best influence on kids, saying that kids could end up suffering from poor health due to grandparents spoiling them with treats. Meanwhile, a review of 56 studies from 18 different countries found that children never lost weight in their grandparents care but often got fatter.
