Kids Are Getting Around Apple’s ‘Screen Time’ Restrictions

Apple recently introduced “Screen Time” restrictions, but it seems kids are already outsmarting the software. In a Reddit thread reported by The Next Web, parents shared ways that their kids were getting around the feature, which allows parents to set a limit on phone and app use. The ‘Screen Time’ dashboard allows parents to see where iPhone users spend time on their phones and in different apps, and debuted as part of iOS 12 on September 17th. On the Reddit thread, one parent reported that when his son would hit his time limit on a game he was playing, he would simply delete the app, and re-download it. Another parent said their child skirted time limits for using YouTube by sending himself links to videos on the site through iMessage, which allowed him to watch them through iMessage even after his allotted YouTube time was up.
