Children Are Weaker Today Due To Lazy Lifestyles

A new study has found that kids today are getting weaker due to a changing lifestyle. The research, which specifically looked at 10-year-olds, shows that children, are getting taller but are more unfit then in the past. Researchers said this could be because schools have been cutting back fitness programs because of children fat shaming one another. There is also changing lifestyle in kids with more inactivity due to an increase in time spent on phones and other devices. The study’s leader, Dr. Gavin Sandercock, explained, “Despite being bigger, we are finding ten-year-olds are getting weaker. Year-on-year we keep finding lower and lower fitness levels suggesting children are doing less and less exercise. Inactive lifestyles are a health risk but physical fitness is the single best measure of health in childhood, adolescence and on into adulthood. Poor fitness and inactivity lead to multiple health problems in their adult life.”
