Science Says You Should Talk To Your Dog In A Baby Voice

Love it or hate it, many people tend to speak to babies and dogs in a “baby voice.” It’s been scientifically proven to help tiny humans pick up on language cues, but is it doing your dog any good? Researchers looked at 37 pet dogs from volunteers to see how they reacted to baby talk, or “dog-directed speech” (DDS.) They discovered that compared to a regular voice, DDS grabbed the dogs’ attention and held it longer. It’s also believed this type of speech can strengthen the bond between pooches and their owners.
