The Huffington Post asked the flower delivery service The Bouqs Company how moms can make their Mother’s Day flowers last longer. The company suggested changing the water on a daily basis and adding flower food instead of pennies to the water. The Bouqs Company says flowers should initially be placed in warm water so they can bloom faster. After that, cool water should be used to help the flowers stay open. Each day, the flower stems should be cut by a fourth of an inch to prevent bacterial infection.
