Apple Is Working On A Crumb-Resistant Keyboard

If you’ve ever turned a computer keyboard upside down you know how gross they can really get. Now Apple appears to be working on a keyboard that is crumb-resistant. A freshly submitted patent application from the company shows a number of methods to keep dirt out, including the use of gaskets, brushes, wipers, and flaps to seal gaps. The company also suggests a membrane beneath each key, and a “bellows” effect, which forces air through the board each time a key is pressed, pushing out the icky stuff in the process. Would you want a keyboard that stays clean? (The Sun)¬†
