iPhone Is Too Addictive, Stanford Students Say

Students in the group Stanford Students Against Addictive Devices (SSAAD) held a protest at the Palto Alto, California Apple Store over the weekend demanding the technology giant take iPhone addiction seriously. The students wrote in a flyer, “iPhones are our gateway to addictive services (read: Facebook and company), so Apple is uniquely capable of helping us curb our dependence.” They also suggest Apple should add an “Essential Mode” to iPhone similar to Airplane Mode that would allow only “calls, texts, and photos.” So far Apple has not commented on the matter.
