With winter workouts underway the Penn State football team released their new roster on Friday. There were some notable position changes and one big statement by a true freshman.
True freshman linebacker Micah Parsons is setting the bar high for himself, choosing the vaunted number 11 to start his college career. That number of course is associated with great Penn State linebackers including LaVar Arrington, NoVorrow Bowman, and most recently Brandon Bell.
Two notable swaps also occurred on the new roster. Sophomore Lamont Wade is now listed as a safety and receiver Da’Lun Darien will now wear number 41 and play linebacker. Also redshirt freshman C.J. Thorpe will now wear number 69.
Several Players do not appear on the roster this spring including
rJR safety Troy Shorts
rJR defensive tackle Ryan Monk
rSR corner Desi Davis
SR defensive end Colin Castagna
