Men sometimes have a hard time admitting they’re wrong, and a new study has pinpointed why. Researchers from Western University and several other organizations have found that people with higher levels of testosterone tend to think they’re right, even when they’re wrong, more often than others do. Researcher Robert Kirby explains, “The testosterone is either inhibiting the process of mentally checking your work or increasing the intuitive process of feeling that ‘I’m definitely right.'” The take-home message: testosterone increases self-confidence to the point where one doesn’t even have enough self-doubt to correct mistakes.
