Why Millennials Always Get Lost

Using a G-P-S app can make getting places a breeze, but it’s making millennials lose their sense of direction. Researchers from the University College London studied how 24 volunteers navigated a computer simulation of central London while their brains were being scanned. When they used their own brains rather than GPS, it led to ‘spikes’ in activity in the hippocampus (involved with memories) and the pre-frontal cortex. By contrast, when volunteers followed instructions on where to go, the brain showed no additional activity. The scientists say if you want to become better at spatial navigation you should use a real map, and ditch the GPS directions. (Daily Mail
