A new study just came out that found asthma gets misdiagnosed all the time, especially in adults. Researchers looked at 613 people who thought they had asthma, and a third of them DIDN’T.
Here are three more illnesses that get misdiagnosed all the time . . .
1. Depression. Sometimes it’s really an underactive thyroid, and that’s what’s causing it. Hypothyroidism can make you feel cold, sluggish, and depressed.
2. Menopause, when you actually have an OVER-active thyroid. They can both cause irregular periods, night sweats, bloating, and mood changes.
3. Irritable bowel syndrome, when it’s actually celiac disease. Meaning you’re allergic to gluten. They cause a lot of the same symptoms, like bloating, diarrhea, and stomach pain. But the treatments are totally different. (Daily Mail)
