World Wildlife Fund Warns The Planet Could Be Out Of Fish By 2048

It might be time to lay off the sushi. The World Wildlife Fund (WWF) says our oceans are running out of fish. Citing a ten-year-old research article, the WWF says, “Unless the current situation improves, stocks of all species currently fished for food are predicted to collapse by 2048.” The International Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) says 53 percent of the world’s fisheries are “fully exploited,” and another 32 percent are “overexploited, depleted, or recovering from depletion.” One particularly tasty species that is close to extinction is the Pacific bluefin tuna. That species’ population has plummeted to just 2.9 percent of its historic high. (Fox)¬†
