Experts Say Phone Snubbing Is Killing Relationships

If your relationship is suffering you may want to rethink your smartphone-use habits. Relationship experts feel ‘phubbing’– or how often one’s romantic partner is distracted by his or her smartphone in your presence– is a huge relationship killer. Researchers surveyed 175 U.S. adults and found that people who reported being at the receiving end of phubbing also reported higher levels of conflict over smartphone use than those who reported less phubbing. Also, higher levels of smartphone-related conflict reduced levels of relationship satisfaction. It’s thought that smartphone usage reduces meaningful interactions among romantic partners, or that smartphones are simply a source of conflict that leads to fighting among partners. (Daily Mail
