Rich Men Live Longer Than Poor Men

A disturbing new study reveals that rich Americans will live about a decade longer than poor Americans. Researchers from East Tennessee State University devised 50 new “states of America,” organized by income level as opposed to geography. They calculated that the richest men live to the average age of 79.3 years, which is 9.5 years longer than the poorest men who have an average life expectancy of 69.8 years. Women in the richest areas have a life expectancy of 83 years, while those in the poorest areas are expected to live to 76. Researchers write, “More than half the countries in the world have a longer life expectancy than the poorest counties in the United States.” (Daily Mail)¬†
