Study: Watching Movies Causes Out Bodies To Release A “Natural Painkiller”

If you’re addicted to watching tragic or dramatic movies, it’s probably because they make you feel good. Oxford University researchers conducted several experiments and discovered that watching dramatic films causes endorphins, or “feel-good” chemicals, to flood the body. Researchers think our affinity for emotive fiction may have evolved in the context of cohesion among social groups, as the endorphin effect has also been seen in comedy, signing and dancing.
