Things You Didn’t Know About Labor Day

  • It was first proposed in the late 1800s . . . by Bernie Sanders.
  • It’s kind of hypocritical for the Kardashians to take it off.
  • It’s pretty much the start of the college football season, so in a way it’s a celebration of FREE labor.
  • Michelle Duggar always thought it meant something vastly different.
  • It’s a day to say “thanks” to the American worker. Or “gracias” to the undocumented Mexican that replaced them.
  • It’s a day we celebrate work by NOT working. Which is like celebrating Chris Brown’s birthday by NOT assaulting a woman.
  • Since it’s a day to take a break from our normal routine, Ryan Lochte will spend it being truthful.
  • It always occurs in September. Just like the Browns being mathematically eliminated from the playoffs.
  • Labor Day is known as the “unofficial end of summer” and the “official beginning of sitting on the couch on Sundays watching guys get brain damage.”
  • It’s a day when we pay tribute to all hard-working Americans . . . although millennials get to celebrate it, too.
