Study: In 50 Years, Men Will Do Most Of The Housework

Few people actually enjoy doing housework, and a new study predicts that men will do most of the housework within the next 50 years. Privilege Home Insurance examined the home lives of 2,000 people in the U.K., crunched some numbers, and determined if current trends continue, men will takeover laundry duties in nine years, and will begin cleaning bathrooms in 16 years. Men are also predicted to do be doing most of the cooking in 36 years, and to begin doing most of the dusting within 52 years. Tasks that have already switched from “women’s work” to “men’s work” include ironing, and loading and unloading the dishwasher. Dan Simson, head of Privilege home insurance says, “The research has shown that whilst men are gradually taking up more traditional ‘female’ chores, girls are starting to be more likely to give D-I-Y a go.” (Daily Mail
