Study: A Good Night’s Sleep Makes You Bond With Your Partner Better

If you say mean things when you’re tired the results of a new study won’t surprise you. Scientists from the University of Florida had the members of 68 newlywed couples document their relationship satisfaction, as well as how many hours they slept each day for seven days. They found that spouses who slept more than their usual amount (which was around 7.5 hours, on average) were more likely to say they were happier with their union on that specific day. Additionally, husbands were more likely to report overall martial satisfaction on days when they got extra sleep even if they recalled having negative interactions with their spouse the same day. The same was not found for wives, and study authors say further research is needed to figure out the reason for this difference. (Women’s Health
