Study: Laziness Is A Sign Of Intelligence

Today is Lazy Day. “Lazy Day is your chance to goof off, and definitely not work. It comes at a good time, too because hot, muggy weather makes it easy to kick back and be lazy for a day. Hey, if your summer chores aren’t done by now, they can just wait one more day. Today is a day best spent on a hammock, enjoying your favorite beverage.

If you can’t find the motivation to move your butt out of that hammock, or off your couch you’ll be glad to hear a new study has found that laziness correlates with high intelligence. (I Must be a freakin’ genius!)

Florida Gulf Coast University researchers identified students who expressed a strong desire to think a lot, and those who were keen to avoid things which were mentally taxing. All participants then wore fitness trackers for seven days. Researchers found that people who think a lot were far less active between Monday and Friday than those who tended to avoid high-level thinking. However, there was no difference between the two groups on the weekend. This suggests less intelligent people are more prone to boredom, leading them to do more physical activity as a result.
