Nearly 30 people missed last Saturday night’s historic Powerball drawing by a single number — and while nothing could heal that heartbreak, a million bucks could certainly salve it. Such is the case with 28 people who missed only the Powerball number 13 — meaning they scored the multi-state game’s second-place prize. Twenty-five of those people will net a million dollars each, while three chose the “Power Play” option, doubling their prize to $2 million. It appears that none of Saturday’s seven-figure winners have come forward to collect yet — and none live in states where they are allowed to remain anonymous. The Match-5 winners bought their tickets in Arizona, California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Massachusetts, Maryland, Michigan, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas and Virginia. The Powerball Jackpot has rolled over to $1.4 billion — though will likely rise before the next drawing Wednesday evening. Incidentally, the odds of winning the grand prize are 1 in 292,201,338.
